Training

Training Prerequisites

Please ensure you are familiar with the ARC User Guide.

Some experience using the Linux command line environment is essential. If you are unfamiliar with the Linux command line environment, a good quality Introduction to Linux is available online.

To access the ARC systems, you need to be on the University network. In order to connect to the University network, trainees may need to use the VPN service. An alternative is to use the IT Services server linux.ox.ac.uk; to activate an account on it a user first needs to go to https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/self/index and select 'Manage Linux Shell Account' situated towards the bottom of the page.
